HEALTH PROMOTION & OUTREACH CONSULTING

Let's see how we can work together with community outreach, health promotion planning, or project management!

MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING

Adult Mental Health First Aid consists of 2-hours of self-paced content followed by 5.5 hours of instructor-led training.

Mental Health First Aid is an early intervention public education program. It teaches adults how to recognize the signs and symptoms that suggest a potential mental health challenge, how to listen nonjudgmentally and give reassurance to a person who may be experiencing a mental health challenge, and how to refer a person to appropriate professional support and services.

QPR GATEKEEPER TRAINING

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.

Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying "Yes" to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor.

QPR can be learned in our Gatekeeper course in as little as one hour.

Gatekeepers can be anyone, but include parents, friends, neighbors, teachers, ministers, doctors, nurses, office supervisors, squad leaders, foremen, police officers, advisors, caseworkers, firefighters, and many others who are strategically positioned to recognize and refer someone at risk of suicide.

ABOUT US

Hi there! I'm Karey Jeffress. I am a health promotion, community outreach, and mental wellness professional with a love for serving others.  I am a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician, a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor, certified QPR facilitator, yoga teacher, and am passionate about helping others live their lives to the fullest. My passions for education and healthcare have inspired my career path, and what led me to create KJ Health Promotion. I earned my Master of Public Health from the University of Arizona in 2020 and am currently working toward a Doctor of Education degree with a Health Professions emphasis.  My overall goal is to use my education and lived experience to inspire others, break down barriers and stigma, create access to care, and teach the importance of early diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

I started KJ Health Promotion in 2023 to share my passions of education, mental health and wellness, physical and spiritual well-being, and public health promotion. I offer 1:1 health coaching, community outreach and public health promotion strategy, and facilitate Mental Health First Aid and QPR trainings.
